The Muller house is sealed off and surrounded by Secret Service agents. Newspapers are not delivered and TVs are disconnected. No family members are allowed to leave.

Secret Service agents transport Norman Muller, the sole voter to represent the American electorate in the presidential election, in an armored car to a hospital, where he speaks with the Multivac computer, answering a variety of questions, which Multivac will evaluate and determine the winner of the election.
