Reverend Jacob Gwynne killed in his sleep. Father Alex: My name is Father Alex. I am an historian for various ministries in this area. A century and a half ago, a house stood near this spot, about 40 yards to the west. A Protestant minister and his wife lived there. They had built it as part of an Underground Railroad to help slaves escape during the Civil war. In 1888, on May the 14th, the house mysteriously burnt down, and the minister was killed in his sleep. When the community organized to build a church, they saw this minister to be the very seed of their faith. His wife donated the land and suggested that her husband be buried below the chapel to be its spiritual foundation. In the Depression, this chapel was turned into a mission, and the minister's remains apparently were neglected. Forgotten.

Byner, the starting point guard for the State University basketball team, was found dead yesterday evening on Chelsea Drive after his car swerved out of control and slammed into a utility pole. Byner was a consensus All-American who led the State University Wildcats to the final four last season before they were eliminated by Georgetown. He is survived by a mother, a sister, and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at the Chapel of the Bells in Huntsville.

Upon arrival at the residence, I was advised by Mrs. Carlotta Guttierez, a domestic employed by the residents of the house Mr. and Mrs. Stevenson that the victim had shot himself in the head. Upon entering the residence, the subject was found on the right-hand side of the living room seated in an arm chair. He had a 30-06 bolt-action hunting rifle propped between his legs.
