An elderly Sammie, now a successful blues musician, is visited by an ageless Stack and Mary at his local blues club. Stack reveals that Smoke spared him at the joint on the condition that Sammie be allowed to live out his life in peace. Sensing Sammie is near the end, Stack offers him immortality, which Sammie politely declines.
