Department of Defense supercomputer ARIIA attempts to "activate" Jerry Shaw, but he is arrested and interrogated by the FBI after finding finds $750,000 in his bank account and weapons in his apartment. ARIAA activates Rachel Holloman by threatening her son, who is heading to Washington, D.C. with his school band. ARIIA redirects a crystalline explosive to a gemcutter, who cuts it and fixes it into a necklace.
